Franklin County Regional Dog Shelter

Our Story

The Franklin County Regional Dog Shelter was established through the vision of Sheriff Christopher Donelan, who recognized the urgent need for a dedicated dog sheltering facility in the community. In 2012, a grant of twenty thousand dollars was awarded to refurbish an old town building into a functional shelter. With the help of inmates from the Franklin County Correctional Institute, this once-empty storage space was transformed into a safe haven for dogs in need.
