Founded in 1998 by a dedicated group of citizens, Friends of the Forest Preserves is the only independent nonprofit organization focused on safeguarding the 70,000 acres of forest preserves in Cook County, Illinois. With over 2,000 members and thousands of volunteers, the organization is committed to ecological stewardship and community engagement.
