Our Story
Founded in 1945 by wilderness leader Paul Schaefer, Adirondack Wild – Friends of the Forest Preserve was established to combat threats to the serenity of New York’s Adirondack Park. The organization has evolved to continue advocating for wild land protection through education and accountability.
Impact
Since 2010, Adirondack Wild has raised over $3 million for wild land advocacy, recruited 1,000 member supporters, and attracted skilled board members in conservation and environmental law.
