Our Story

Friends of the Children - Portland, founded in 1993 by Duncan Campbell, is dedicated to empowering youth facing systemic obstacles. By pairing these young individuals with professional mentors, known as Friends, the organization fosters long-term relationships that last over 12 years.

Impact

With a remarkable 92% of youth enrolling in post-secondary education, serving in the military, or entering the workforce, the impact of mentorship is profound. Additionally, 83% earn a high school diploma or GED, and 93% remain free from juvenile justice system involvement.
