Our Story

Founded in 1993 by Duncan and Cindy Campbell in Portland, Oregon, Friends of the Children was created to support children facing systemic obstacles. By pairing these children with professional mentors, the organization fosters nurturing relationships that help them overcome adversity.

Impact

Friends of the Children drives generational change by empowering youth through long-term mentorship. An impressive 92% of participants enroll in post-secondary education, serve in the military, or enter the workforce, while 83% earn a high school diploma or GED.
