Our Story

Friends of the Chemung River Watershed, also known as Chemung River Friends, is dedicated to the protection and enhancement of the Chemung River and its tributaries. Since 2009, this 501c3 non-profit organization has partnered with local municipalities and community members to ensure that these vital waterways are safe, accessible, and enjoyable for everyone. Through various educational and stewardship programs, Chemung River Friends works tirelessly to promote the health of the 45-mile-long Chemung River and its surrounding ecosystem.
