Our Story

Friends of the Carpenter began as a vision of practical outreach, shared by the community. It started in a spare bedroom and a garage, where volunteers and those on the margins of society came together to create a welcoming space. In 2004, a significant donation allowed the organization to purchase an 18,000 sq. ft. facility, dedicated to inspiring individuals through holistic support and the craft of woodworking.

Our Impact

Friends of the Carpenter seeks to inspire those facing social exclusion to flourish through holistic support and the craft of woodworking. The organization embraces human dignity, offering essential services such as free showers, laundry, and a safe space for respite, along with the simple joy of a cup of coffee.

Why Donate?
