Our Story

Founded in 1990 by dedicated local citizens, the Friends of the Boca Raton Public is a nonprofit organization committed to supporting and enhancing the Boca Raton Public Library. This organization plays a vital role in raising funds for significant library projects, including the library’s bookmobile, which reaches underserved communities, and the award-winning Storywalk trails located in public parks. Additionally, the Friends contribute to the Butterfly Garden at Pondhawk Natural Area and donate books to community centers, ensuring access to literature for all.

Impact

Funding is essential for libraries to thrive. Well-funded libraries can offer a broader range of materials and programs, improving community access to knowledge and resources. Conversely, limited funding can lead to reduced services or even closures, impacting countless individuals who rely on these vital community hubs.
