Our Story
Founded in 1987 by passionate advocates, Friends of the Anacortes Community Forest Lands emerged in response to the threat of clearcut logging. This dedicated organization has since focused on preserving the Anacortes Community Forest Lands through education, outreach, and community engagement.
Impact
Through tireless efforts, Friends of the ACFL has successfully halted revenue logging, established a management division within the Parks Department, and implemented educational programs that inspire local school children to appreciate the forest.
