Our Story

In 2005, the Stark County Dog Warden Department was labeled a 'high-kill' facility. Volunteer Margie Serri and Dog Warden employee Mike Evans initiated a transformative effort to transport dogs to shelters where they could find loving homes. By 2008, Friends of Stark Pound was established as a 501c3 organization, committed to reducing the homeless dog population through funding spay/neuter procedures and providing essential veterinary care.

Impact

Friends of Stark Pound has significantly improved the quality of life for homeless dogs at the Stark County Dog Warden Department, enhancing their chances for adoption and transfer to rescue groups.
