The Friends of Solo Foundation was inspired by the heroic K9, Solo, who lost his life in the line of duty in 1998. Founded by James Wiater, the foundation emerged after the publication of the children's book 'The Adventures of Solo, The Big Dog' in 2016. Since then, the foundation has dedicated itself to providing bulletproof vests and safety equipment to K9 officers across the United States.
With over 90 pieces of safety equipment donated, including ballistic vests and trauma kits, the foundation significantly enhances the safety of K9 officers during their critical work.
