Dr. Michelle Harrison's lifelong dream to help orphaned children became a reality in 2005 when she moved to Kolkata, India. With her personal savings, she established an NGO, secured a house, and petitioned the government to rescue orphan girls from abusive conditions. The first twelve girls, all victims of neglect and abuse, arrived illiterate and malnourished. Today, thanks to dedicated care and education, these girls are thriving, becoming articulate and determined young women.
