Our Story

Friends of Pittsburgh Professional Soccer was established in October 2016 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The mission focuses on connecting youth to nontraditional sports through scholarships and facility development. Collaborating with the Redevelopment Authority of Allegheny County, FOPPS identified community needs for nontraditional practice spaces, leading to the creation of the Sports and Athletic Complex at Montour Junction, which opened in 2018.

Our Impact

Since its inception, FOPPS has successfully developed the Sports and Athletic Complex, providing access to nontraditional sports fields for 1,200 youth from 18 regional organizations. The organization has also raised over $20,000 for community causes through events like 'Peace on the Pitch.'
