Friends of Padre is committed to preserving the natural beauty of Padre Island National Seashore by organizing the annual Billy Sandifer Big Shell Beach Cleanup. Since 1995, this event has brought together hundreds of volunteers to clean the pristine yet rugged Big Shell area.

Impact

Over 17,425 volunteers have collectively removed an astounding 3,258,000 pounds of trash from this remote beach, showcasing the power of community action.
