Friends of Outdoor Chattanooga was established in December 2007 to support and promote outdoor recreation in the Chattanooga region. Emerging from the Outdoor Initiative announced by Mayor Bob Corker in 2003, this organization has been pivotal in positioning Chattanooga as a national venue for outdoor activities.
