About Friends of Oshkosh Parks

The Oshkosh Celebration of Lights was inspired by Tom Stephany, a former Oshkosh Parks Department Director. His vision of a holiday lights display, sparked by a similar event in Texas, led to a partnership with local Rotarians and the Parks Department. This collaboration has transformed into one of the largest light shows in the Midwest, bringing joy and community spirit to Oshkosh.

Impact of the Celebration

Each year, the event attracts over 16,000 vehicles and collects nearly 7 tons of food for local food pantries, supporting charities like the Salvation Army and the Oshkosh Humane Society.
