The Friends of Moeckel Pond is dedicated to reconstructing the dam and restoring the environment of Moeckel Pond, a site with a rich history dating back to 1778. Established to address the ecological damage caused by the pond's draining in 2010, this organization collaborates with local conservation commissions to ensure public access for passive water recreation.

Impact

Since the completion of the Marston-Finn Conservation Dam in September 2020, water has returned to Moeckel Pond, revitalizing a crucial habitat for wildlife and enhancing recreational opportunities for the community. The organization has successfully engaged the community in fundraising efforts, leading to the restoration of 40 acres of wetlands.
