Our Story

In 1992, a dedicated group of citizens, including Dottie Berger MacKinnon and Bob Thomas, envisioned a sanctuary for abused, neglected, and abandoned children in the Tampa Bay area. This vision became a reality with the establishment of Joshua House, a therapeutic residential group care program designed to offer a nurturing, family-like environment for children aged six to seventeen. Over the years, hundreds of children have found refuge at Joshua House, each with a unique story of resilience and hope.

Our Impact

Joshua House spans 11 acres and features five homes, each tailored to meet the specific needs of the children. The impact of Joshua House is evident in the countless success stories of children who have experienced healing, stability, and empowerment. The programs not only address immediate needs but also foster growth and resilience.
