Our Story

Public Prep was founded on the belief that every family deserves access to an excellent, tuition-free, single-gender public school education. Historically, single-gender schools in New York have been exclusive and costly. Public Prep changes that narrative by providing a free, public option that empowers both girls and boys to reach their full potential in a joyful learning environment.

Impact

Public Prep schools outperform their peers by 33% in both English Language Arts and Math. Remarkably, 100% of graduating 8th graders are matched with one of their top high school choices, and 79% of alumni enroll in college—27% higher than their NYC peers.
