Friends of El Faro Orphanage

Our Story

Since November 2000, Adam Smith and Leigh Kilton-Smith, along with their dedicated friends, have been traveling to Tijuana, Mexico, every few weeks to support the children of Casa Hogar Sion orphanage. This home provides safety, nourishment, and love to over 80 children who have faced abandonment, abuse, or neglect. In collaboration with Jim McAleer, these friends have organized fundraising efforts and bus trips to ensure that the orphanage remains a beacon of hope for these vulnerable children.

Impact

Thanks to the generosity of affiliated churches, independent groups, and private donors, Casa Hogar Sion has transformed into a thriving community. All children are now enrolled in school, with some attending private institutions and trade tech programs. A fully equipped computer lab offers educational opportunities five days a week, empowering children with the skills they need for a brighter future.
