Our Story
Friends of Children with Special Needs (FCSN) was founded in the early 1990s by Shiow-Luan Chen, a dedicated special education teacher. Recognizing the challenges faced by Chinese-American families in the Bay Area, she organized a meeting in 1996 that led to the formation of the South Bay Integrated Family Support Group, which evolved into FCSN. The organization is committed to empowering individuals with special needs and their families through community engagement and diverse programs.
Impact
FCSN has positively impacted over 800 families by establishing essential programs, including adult and children's services, job training, and community integration initiatives. The Dream Center, a central hub for these activities, exemplifies the organization's commitment to fostering a supportive environment.
