Friends of Champaign County Food Pantry is a grassroots organization dedicated to alleviating food insecurity in Champaign County. Established in February 2016 by community members under the Central Illinois Mosque and Islamic Center, this initiative aims to make a meaningful impact by providing nutritious food to those in need.
Each week, over 250 families receive fresh produce and bread, totaling more than 200,000 pounds of food distributed last year. This effort ensures that 100 families benefit from nutritious food bags weekly, averaging 100,000 pounds annually.
