Our Story

Friends of Canton Football was founded in 2005 by passionate Canton parents determined to revive the high school football program that had been discontinued in 1964. After rallying community support, the football program was successfully reinstated in 2006, culminating in a club team that won its first game in over 40 years. The following year, varsity football returned, and since then, the organization has been the primary fundraising entity for the program, also supporting the girls' lacrosse team to ensure compliance with Title IX.

Impact

The Friends of Canton Football has played a pivotal role in restoring and sustaining the high school football program, leading to enhanced facilities, upgraded equipment, and the establishment of a girls' lacrosse program. This initiative has fostered community engagement and support, resulting in playoff appearances for the co-op team with Granby Memorial High School.
