Our Story
The Canby Adult Center began its journey in 1973 as a part-time meals program for seniors, operating out of St. Patrick’s Church. With the support of Title III and Title VII funds, state and county resources, and generous private donations, the program flourished. By 1980, the need for a dedicated senior services center became evident, leading the City of Canby to secure Community Development Block Grant funds for a permanent facility. The Friends of the Canby Adult Center played a crucial role in raising additional funds to furnish and staff this vital space, which continues to serve the community today.
