Friends for Survival
EIN: 31-1640393 · Sacramento, CA
Our Story
In the summer of 1982, two mothers, Chris Moon and Marilyn Koenig, met in Sacramento, California, after experiencing the tragic suicide of their teenage sons. Their immediate connection and compassion for one another led to the creation of Friends for Survival, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping others navigate the complex journey of grief following a suicide loss. Since 1983, this organization has evolved into a comprehensive suicide bereavement support program, offering long-term services tailored to the needs of families.
