Our Story
Founded in 1977 by Hans and Lucille Fried, Fried's Cat Shelter transformed an old roadside motel into a loving, no-kill, cageless haven for homeless and abandoned cats. After immigrating from Nazi Germany, the Frieds dedicated their lives to spaying and neutering as a humane solution to cat overpopulation. Their legacy lives on through the shelter's Board of Directors, who continue to uphold their mission.
Impact
Each year, over 250 cats find new homes through Fried's Cat Shelter, while more than 500 cats receive lifelong care at the shelter.
