Our Story
Freedom House Ministries began in 1964 when Rose Marie Borrelli experienced a profound spiritual awakening at a Billy Graham crusade in Chicago. This pivotal moment ignited her passion for Bible study and spiritual growth, leading her to open her home for Bible studies and counseling. Over the years, her reputation as a compassionate counselor grew, and in 1980, she began formal training with John and Paula Sandford at Elijah House in Idaho.
In 1998, Freedom House Ministries was officially dedicated, marking the beginning of a transformative journey for countless individuals seeking healing and restoration. Over the past two decades, thousands have benefited from prayer counseling sessions addressing issues such as infidelity, abuse, and spiritual darkness. The ministry has served individuals from all walks of life, fostering healing and reconciliation through the love of Jesus Christ.
With a dedicated team of directors, prayer counselors, and volunteers, Freedom House has expanded its reach, offering training programs that have graduated hundreds of students. Many graduates return to their communities, equipped to share their newfound understanding and support others in their spiritual journeys.
As technology has evolved, so has Freedom House, transitioning from in-person sessions to online counseling via Skype and FaceTime. Despite these advancements, the ministry remains grounded in faith, relying on the grace of God and the power of the gospel to guide its mission.
