Our Story

Petra Community Housing, formerly known as Phoenixville Homes, was established in 1994 by the Phoenixville Area Council of Churches to address the pressing need for affordable housing in the region. Over the years, the organization has evolved from providing small grants and loans to low-income, first-time homebuyers to developing and managing rental housing for seniors, families, and individuals with disabilities.

Impact

Petra Community Housing has successfully developed and manages several properties that provide affordable rental housing for very low-income elderly and adults with disabilities, significantly contributing to the community's housing needs.
