Education For Incarcerated Individuals
Empowerment Of Marginalized Communities
Reduction Of Recidivism Through Higher Education

Our Story

Freedom Education Project Puget Sound emerged from the Women’s Village at WCCW in 2008, where residents recognized the need for higher education. With the support of dedicated professors and volunteers, FEPPS has developed a program that offers accredited college courses to incarcerated individuals, focusing on personal empowerment and reducing recidivism.

Our Impact

Over 300 students have participated in FEPPS courses, with 72 earning an Associates of Arts degree while incarcerated. Since 2014, more than 200 college and pre-college classes have been offered, facilitating successful transitions to higher education for many students post-release.
