The Foundation for Rehabilitation Equipment & Endowment (F.R.E.E.) is a volunteer-led nonprofit organization based in Virginia. Dedicated to collecting, sanitizing, and gifting mobility-related rehabilitation equipment, F.R.E.E. serves low-income, uninsured, or under-insured adults, helping them regain their independence after serious illness or injury.
Since its inception, F.R.E.E. has positively impacted 28,140 individuals by providing over 43,200 pieces of equipment, resulting in more than $31 million in annual cost savings for Virginia. In 2023, 99% of those served were able to remain in their homes, with a remarkable 97% decrease in ER visits and a 98% decrease in hospitalizations due to falls and immobility.
