About Frederick Arts Council
The Frederick Arts Council was born from the ashes of the 1976 flood that devastated downtown Frederick, Maryland. Spearheaded by then-Mayor Ron Young, a coalition of passionate individuals came together to restore the historic Weinberg Center for the Arts and promote cultural initiatives throughout the city. Since its inception, the Arts Council has played a pivotal role in the cultural renaissance of Frederick, supporting a myriad of creative projects and cultural initiatives.
