Waterman Center
EIN: 16-1086166 · Apalachin, NY
Our Story
The Waterman Center was established in response to community concerns regarding local youth's access to nature education. Founded in the late 1960s, Lolita Waterman generously donated part of her family farm to create a nature center in memory of her late husband, Fred L. Waterman. What began as a volunteer-driven initiative has blossomed into a vital resource, featuring multiple nature preserves and diverse educational programs.
Impact
Serving the Twin Tiers community, the Waterman Center promotes conservation education, outdoor recreation, and environmental literacy through its nature preserves and educational initiatives.
