Our Story

Founded in 1949, the Frank H. Hiscock Legal Aid Society has been dedicated to providing free legal assistance to low-income residents of Onondaga County. Established through a bequest from Hon. Frank H. Hiscock, the organization focuses on civil legal assistance, particularly in family, housing, and unemployment matters. Over the years, services have expanded to include representation in Family Court, appeals, parole revocation, and immigration matters.

Impact

For every dollar invested in civil legal services, it’s estimated that $10 is returned to the New York State Treasury.
