About The Francis Foundation
Founded in 2000, The Francis Foundation is dedicated to providing specialized clinical support for children and individuals with significant trauma histories and emotional regulation challenges. Based in Vermont, the organization has expanded its mission to include individuals of all ages with developmental disabilities, particularly those facing homelessness and mental health struggles.
Through partnerships with local community providers and the State of Vermont Department of Disabilities, Aging, and Independent Living, The Francis Foundation has successfully decreased institutionalization by offering home and community-based services tailored to individuals with intense clinical needs. These services include case management, medical oversight, counseling, crisis support, and employment assistance, all designed to foster independence and community integration.
In 2022, the focus shifted from direct service to enhancing the broader care system through education and training in their clinical model, ensuring that more individuals receive the support they need.
