About the Foundation of the Flora of Virginia Project
Founded in 2001, the Foundation of the Flora of Virginia Project is dedicated to producing a modern Flora Virginica, honoring the original published in 1739. After a decade of dedicated work, the Flora of Virginia was published in 2012, featuring approximately 3,200 taxa and 1,400 illustrations. In 2017, a mobile app was launched, providing users with extensive data on Virginia's flora.
