Our Story

Founded in 1955 by a group of dedicated parents in Sacramento, the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Greater Sacramento Area, Inc. emerged from a profound desire to provide a better life for children with cerebral palsy. Rejecting the notion of institutional care, these parents envisioned a future where their children could thrive in the community. With a modest $500 loan, they began their journey to create a supportive environment for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Impacting Lives

UCP serves individuals across Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado, Butte, Yolo, Nevada, Shasta, and Sutter Counties, offering essential programs such as adaptive horseback riding, adult day programs, independent living services, and in-home respite care. Remarkably, 90% of every dollar donated directly funds these vital services, ensuring dignity and independence for those in need.
