Our Story

Founded in 2011 by Maria Vertkin, Found in Translation addresses economic disadvantages faced by minority women while fulfilling the critical need for medical interpreters in healthcare. This initiative has transformed into a recognized model, training bilingual women for professional roles and enhancing their economic security.

Impact

Over the past decade, Found in Translation has trained more than 300 interpreters, elevating their average wage from under $15/hour to nearly $25/hour. This initiative has infused approximately $15 million into low-income communities, serving over 60,000 Limited English Speakers annually.
