Our Story

Fostering Connections began in 2016 as a grassroots initiative by foster and adoptive families in North Alabama. Initially known as the "clothing closet," it served as a support group for those in the foster care community. As awareness grew, kinship families were embraced, expanding the mission to meet the holistic needs of children and their caregivers. In 2018, Fostering Connections was officially registered as a 501(c)(3) organization, with the North Alabama Foster Closet now operating as one of its key initiatives.
