Our Story

Forward Scholars was initiated by Common Ground, a community organizing group with over 15 years of experience. Recognizing the urgent need for educational support, they established a volunteer tutoring program aimed at assisting K-3rd graders struggling with reading.

Impact

In its inaugural year, students in the Forward Scholars program achieved an impressive average of 3.3 reading levels gained, surpassing the expected growth of 2 levels.
