Fortress Youth Development Center

Our Story

Fortress Youth Development Center began in 1997 as Fortress Church, dedicated to providing essential resources like food and clothing to impoverished families and the homeless in Historic Southside Fort Worth. In 2005, it evolved into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, focusing on the academic, social, and spiritual needs of local children. Although the church disbanded in 2009, the faith-based roots continue to inspire its mission. In 2021, Fortress relocated to a larger facility, enhancing its ability to serve families and children.

Impact

Currently, Fortress serves nearly 100 families daily through a fresh food pantry, parenting classes, and community events, effectively breaking the cycle of generational poverty.
