Our Story

The Fort Worth Zoo opened its doors in 1909 with just a lion, two bear cubs, and a handful of other animals. Over the past century, it has transformed into a world-renowned facility, fostering a deep connection between humans and the environment.

Impact

In collaboration with the International Elephant Foundation, the Fort Worth Zoo has made significant strides in anti-poaching efforts, confiscating over 12 tons of traps in Uganda in 2022, thus protecting endangered species and their habitats.
