Our Story

Fort Worth Early Music, co-founded in 1990 by Dr. Lenora McCroskey and Harriet Risk Woldt, is dedicated to promoting the live performance of music composed before 1800. In 2004, the organization evolved into Texas Camerata, reflecting its expanded outreach in Fort Worth and beyond. Drawing inspiration from the Renaissance, Texas Camerata serves as the primary resource for early music performances in the area, showcasing professional artists on authentic Baroque instruments.

Impact

Texas Camerata presents a series of four subscription concerts each season at notable venues such as St. Patrick Cathedral and the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. With 6-12 musicians, including vocalists, the organization has successfully promoted early music and expanded its outreach throughout North Texas.
