Our Story
The Fort Wayne Jewish Federation has a rich history rooted in the late 1700s, beginning with the arrival of John Jacob Hayes. As Jewish immigrants from Germany settled in the area around 1830, they established the first Jewish congregation in Indiana in 1848. Over the years, the community has grown and evolved, leading to the formation of the Fort Wayne Jewish Federation, which unites community members to enhance the well-being of the local and global Jewish community.
