For Richmond, originally known as BlessRVA, was founded in 2009 to foster relationships among pastors across racial and denominational lines. In 2017, the organization recognized the need for collaboration among churches and nonprofits after engaging with community leaders. The tragic events of the Unite the Right Rally in Charlottesville galvanized 900 Richmond pastors to unite against racism, inspiring For Richmond to focus on collective efforts for impactful change.
Since 2019, For Richmond has empowered over 40 churches to collaborate on critical issues such as foster care, kinship placement, and adoption, significantly improving the lives of children in the Metro Richmond area.
