Our Story

Footpath Foundation began its journey in the summer of 2016 at a Trumbull County overnight camp, where 48 children from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland experienced the joy of nature for the first time. Over four transformative days at Camp Whitewood, these kids discovered the beauty of the outdoors, from stargazing to embracing the tranquility of nature. This initial experience ignited a passion to provide more children with similar opportunities.

Through partnerships with organizations like Lake Erie Nature and Science Center and Common Ground, Footpath Foundation has organized numerous outdoor field trips, introducing children to hiking, fishing, and camping. The foundation also offers equestrian therapy for girls in foster care through Ohio Guidestone and a week-long horseback riding day camp in collaboration with Fieldstone Farms. In just four summers, 371 children have attended overnight camps, and over 350 have embarked on outdoor adventures, while 50 girls have benefited from intensive equestrian therapy.
