Our Story

Footbridge Foundation was inspired by Wendy Black's passion for fostering dogs and her walks through the King William neighborhood. The footbridge on Johnson Street became a symbol of hope, representing the journey from despair to happiness for countless animals. Since its inception, Footbridge Foundation has saved thousands of dogs and cats, with a goal to rescue and adopt out at least 450 animals this year alone. This mission is made possible through the unwavering support of donors, fosters, and volunteers.

Impact

Thanks to generous contributions, Footbridge Foundation surpassed its fundraising goal for the spay/neuter clinic, raising over $10,000 and unlocking a matching grant from Tito’s Vodka for Dog People. This funding has allowed the clinic to perform over 900 surgeries since its launch in March 2023, significantly reducing pet overpopulation and enhancing the well-being of animals in the community.
