Our Story

The Food Literacy Project began in 2005 at an agricultural oasis between Oxmoor Country Club and Interstate 64. Initiated by a local teacher, the project aimed to provide hands-on experiences for students, leading to the establishment of the nonprofit in 2006. This organization focuses on engaging youth through food, farming, and land to transform their communities.

Impact

By engaging young people through farm-based food, nutrition, and environmental education, the Food Literacy Project inspires them to become change agents in promoting healthy foodways and environmental sustainability.
