Our Story

The Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County, Inc. began its journey in 1984 as a program of the Council of Churches and Synagogues. By January 2003, it became an independent entity, dedicated to alleviating hunger in the community. Serving as a vital hunger-relief organization, it provides food to approximately 70 non-profit agencies across six towns in Lower Fairfield County.

Our Impact

Through bags of groceries and congregate meals, the Food Bank supports soup kitchens, food pantries, child care programs, homeless shelters, senior centers, domestic violence safe houses, and rehabilitation programs, ensuring that low-income individuals receive the nourishment they need.
