Fondy Food Center

Our Story

Founded in 2000 on Milwaukee’s North Side, Fondy Food Center emerged from a critical need for food security in an area plagued by hunger and poverty. Over the years, Fondy has transformed from a single farmers market into a dynamic organization that fosters strategic food systems change through collaboration with multi-sector partners. Today, Fondy operates year-round farmers markets, supporting over 110 vendors and serving tens of thousands of shoppers, even during the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our Impact

In 2023, the Fondy Farm Project empowered 25 small family farmers, cultivating a diverse array of crops across 40 acres at the Mequon Nature Preserve.
