Our Story

Founded in 1977 by five passionate animal lovers, the Floyd County Animal Rescue League (FCARL) has been a beacon of hope for companion animals in Floyd County, Indiana. With a commitment to animal welfare, FCARL played a pivotal role in raising over a third of the funds needed to establish the New Albany Animal Shelter, which opened its doors in 2000. Since then, FCARL has continued to collaborate with the shelter, providing essential volunteer support and financial assistance for vaccinations, medications, spay/neuter surgeries, and adoption services.

Impact

FCARL's efforts have significantly reduced the number of unwanted and homeless animals in the community. By offering spay and neuter vouchers, medical assistance, and free microchipping clinics, FCARL ensures that every companion animal receives the care they deserve.
